Yesterday, the Province of Ontario announced that as of the week of May 31, youth in Ontario between 12 and 17 years of age and their family members who have not received a vaccine will be eligible to book an appointment to receive their first dose of the Pfizer vaccine, including at special dedicated youth and family clinics throughout the weeks of June 14 and 21, 2021.

However, as announced earlier this week by Region of Waterloo Public Health, those who live in Waterloo Region and are 12 and up (born in 2009 or earlier) can pre-register now for a COVID-19 vaccine.

The province will work with our local public health unit and WRDSB to offer second doses of the vaccine by the end of August.

Get Vaccinated If You Are Eligible

The Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB) encourages all who are eligible to pre-register to receive their vaccine from Region of Waterloo Public Health. When possible, and to best support your child(ren) with their learning, please be mindful of school hours. However, if you are only able to book an appointment during the school day, please do so. This is an important opportunity to prioritize the health of all in our community.

We are asking anyone who is eligible, including education workers, to make sure they are pre-registered on the Region of Waterloo Public Health website
